It’s been a minute. In December 2021, I was overwhelmed with responsibilities and adjusting to what “normal” would look like after the pandemic’s acute phase. I had a new baby and ailing parents and in-laws. I decided to set this blog aside for a bit and focus on other things, with the idea that I would wrap the posts from this blog under Well-Caffeinated Mom. It didn’t help that a blog transfer went sideways, and I lost a large chunk of my posts. I was frustrated, burnt out, and plain tired.

However, moving the blog never felt quite right to me. While I speak to a similar audience at Well-Caffeinated Mom, I haven’t targeted homeschoolers specifically. I struggled to figure out how to add homeschooling posts. Plus, it was a disservice because this blog serves an underserved niche—the secular homeschooling family. While there are many more options for those wanting to homeschool their children with resources free from religious bias, there is still a need for corners of the Internet for us to gather ideas and learn from one another.

With all that said, I’m back. I’m still homeschooling, and I’m excited to share some of my more recent thinking with everyone. We now have 4 kids I’m homeschooling instead of 3, and my oldest of the 5, with whom I began the whole homeschooling journey, got their MFA degree a couple of months ago – yay!

The kiddos I’m homeschooling will be in 5th, 3rd, 2nd, and preschool for the 2024-2025 school year (time sure does fly). I plan to share how I’ve been planning our homeschool, what curricula I’m using, and much more with readers. I do hope you will continue to come by and join me on this journey.
